Potholes   Leave a comment

Driving through the city
On La Jolla Village Drive
I encounter something gritty
I’ve counted at least five

Dodge it, dive it, duck it
Try to avoid the jolt
Or else say, “ah well fuck it”
As your wheels lose a bolt

They multiply like rabbits
When it rains and when it storms
They change your driving habits
As you’re driving to your dorms

Oh noticeable depression
eroded from the road
That ruins my driving session
And makes me curse a load

Please go away, please get your fill
Don’t come another day
Before you cause a repair bill
We don’t like you, okay?

I know that you will stay a while
And make my car go bump
Driving quite a rocky mile
La Jolla’s such a dump.
