UPDATE: UCSD Police Issue Campus Notice via Email– Woman’s Body Found In Burning Vehicle At UCSD   1 comment

UCSD police have issued a campus notice that indeed a woman’s body was found in a burning car in a campus parking lot a week ago. It has been ruled a homicide. Tragic.

The email is below.

10News.com reports:

Several people made a 911 call about 9:20 p.m. Friday to report a burning vehicle in the east commuter lot on campus in the 3600 block of Voigt Drive, said San Diego police Lt. Kevin Rooney.

To my knowledge, no mass email has been sent to students concerning the incident either from UCSD police or an administrator. In 2008, when a man committed suicide in a Revelle parking lot, such an email was sent out.

I really hope it was not a student and am saddened that it was anyone at all. Frightening thing to occur on campus, with no further information at this time, it would be unproductive to speculate about something like border drug violence. Hope the circumstances come to light. Have a safe Halloween.
