Arrest Made in UCSD Car Burning Murder Case   Leave a comment

The Union Tribune reports that the husband of the murdered woman was arrested by US authorities in Tijuana.

“The estranged husband of a woman whose body was found in a burning car at the University of California San Diego last week was arrested on suspicion of murder in Tijuana Friday night, police said.”

He’s being held without bail, and his name has been released, but the victim’s name has not, which is out of the ordinary. She was a 38-year old Carlsbad resident and the manner of her murder has not been disclosed. Not releasing the woman’s name or cause of death adds an element of suspicion as to what’s going on. It’s possible that a lack of US identification could help account for such nondisclosure. It’s a sad and scary thing to have happened on the UCSD campus.
